This console was made in the first quarter of the 18th Century in France or Germany. The console is made of six pieces and the marble top lays on a frame in oak wood and gilt bronze. This piece is certainly a rare example of a console table that features animals, in this case griffins, decorated with gilt bronze. In fact, no other objects of this type are included in public collections and museums.
